Bantwal, Aug 16: In a strange incident that occurred on the night of Saturday August 14 at Keplakody in Veerakambha village near Vittal, a fight between two brothers over a land dispute, ended with one of them losing his life. Interestingly, Ravindra Poojary (28), who allegedly tried to kill his elder brother, Krishppa (38) with a knife, was himself knifed to death. Krishnappa has surrendered before the Vittal policeman.

Sarita, wife of Ravindra, has filed a complaint with the policemen, accusing Krishnappa of murdering his husband with a knife and cudgel. She sand there had been a long-standing feud between the siblings, as Krishnappa often raised land dispute and blocked attempts made by his younger brother to get official plotting of the family property that was transferred to him.

On the other hand, the family of Krishnappa said that Ravindra, seething with anger and heavily drunk, came to the former’s home armed with a knife, shouting that he would eliminate Krishnappa. He broke the door of the house, and pounced upon his elder brother with his knife. Krishnappa tried to save himself, and following a fight between the two, Ravindra collapsed, after suffering stab injuries. He was taken to a hospital, but he breathed his last before he could be admitted there, the family as well as their neighbourers stated.

Ravindra, a truck driver by profession, was notorious for picking up a fight with all and sundry. He lost control over his behaviour when drunk, the villagers said. His parents, Raju Poojary (76) and Korapolu (68), have been living with Krishnappa, after alienating a share in the property to Ravindra. Krishnappa, an auto driver by profession, remains unmarried, it is learnt.
