Mangalore, Aug 17: Two flights were cancelled, and several flights touched down with undue delay at the local airport on Monday August 16, due to adverse climatic conditions.

The Jet Airways flight from Mumbai, which was to arrive here at 11.30 am, as well as the Kingfisher flight that was to reach from Bangalore at 8.30 am, were cancelled. The flight from Dubai that was to touch down at 7.30 am was diverted to Kozhikode. It came back here at 1.20 pm. The Air India flight from Mumbai that was scheduled to reach the airport here at 12 pm was delayed by two hours, the airport sources said.

Because of the cancellation of the Kingfisher flight in the morning, state home minister, Dr V S Acharya, was forced to take a vehicle to reach the state headquarters. After waiting for long, he left from the city by a car at 2.45 pm.
