Mangaluru: Monsoon to gain intensity - Yellow alert issued

Mangaluru, Jul 8: In all likelihood, monsoon will regain its lost steam in coastal Karnataka. Yellow alert has been issued in the region on July 9 while orange alert has been sounded from July 10 to 12. The coast is expected to get good rainfall coupled with strong wind during this period.

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts experienced sunny and cloudy atmosphere with intermittent rainfall on Wednesday. A few places in the coast got some rain. Puttur received good rainfall along with thunder on Wednesday evening.

Several places in Udupi district received some rainfall on Wednesday evening. Different places of Karkala taluk, Halady in Kundapur taluk and Manipal got rain at night. The city experienced highest temperature of 29.3 degree Celsius and minimum of 24.5 degree on Wednesday
