Mangaluru, Jul 11: “We can give light to life of many people through service. We can save countless children through humanitarian work. When we utilize the opportunity to serve, we get self-satisfaction. Lions club is doing such a service and we are proud of it,” said former district governor M Arun Shetty.
Arun was speaking at the oath taking ceremony of new president and office bearers of Mangaluru Lions district 317D that was held on Saturday at the Lions Seva Mandir at Mallikatte in the city.
In the programme which was held under the leadership of immediate past president Krishnanda Pai, new president B Satish Rai, secretary Supreetha G Shetty, treasurer Denis Rodrigues and others took the oath.
Immediate past secretary Prashanth Kadaba and immediate past treasurer M Sudhakar Shetty felicitated outgoing president Krishnananda Pai and his wife Kavitha Pai.
