Raichur, Jul 12: A man bludgeoned his younger sister to death. He was angry that she refused to marry a boy with whom her engagement ceremony had been held.
Chandrakala (23) from a place within the limits of Gabbur police station in Devadurga taluk of the district was the unfortunate victim of this incident. The accused, identified as Shyamsundar, stands arrested.
Chandrakala's marriage was proposed to be held on July 13 and all preparations were made. Even gold and sarees were procured. At the last minute, the girl changed her mind and stayed adamant at not marrying the boy whom she had agreed to marry earlier.
Angered by his sister's behaviour, the accused murdered her, said Gabbur police sub-inspector Sannaveeresh.
