Udupi, Jul 13: District Congress president, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, condemned what he termed as the BJP-sponsored police atrocities on Congress activist from Karkala, Hirgana Radhakrishna Nayak. Kodavoor said that this conspiracy was hatched by misusing the police department against Radhakrishna as he used to upload posts against the MLA representing the local constituency. He also felt that under pressure from the MLA, this old case was given a fresh lease of life. He warned that if detailed investigation is not conducted and if the false allegation is not probed the party will take to streets to fight against the injustice.

In a press statement, Kodavoor said that Hirgana Radhakrishna Nayak had already filed complaint in Bengaluru north station stating that a fake Facebook account was opened in his name and that a post insulting the soldiers of the country which is an act of treachery, was uploaded in the account. He demanded the arrest of the traitors who made the said post. He also accused Karkala police sub-inspector for attacking Radhakrishna Nayak on account of pre-existing enmity.

Kodavoor said that his party is always committed to protect the country and said he is aware that Radhakrishna had filed a complaint to investigate creation of his fake account long back. He accused the police of committing atrocity on Radhakrishna Nayak based on an old case, not even considering his ill health. He said that former chief minister Siddaramaiah, has already asked the superintendent of police to hold detailed enquiry and see that justice is done to the aggrieved youth.
