Udupi: Home Guards commandant Prashanth Shetty receives CM's medal

Udupi, Jul 14: District commandant of Udupi district Home Guards, Dr Prashanth Shetty has received the chief minister's medal, recently.

Prashanth Shetty is serving in the home guards department since 2013. During the service, he had recruited as many as 150 new home guards into the service, to maintain the law and order along with the police department. Shetty had been given the responsibility of maintaining law and order, during the visit of the Sri Lankan president to the district and Paryaya in Udupi Krishna Math.

Prashanth is running 'Prashanth Hospital' and Danda Theertha Educational Group of Institutes. Considering his service and social service the medal has been conferred on him. The award was conferred by the chief minister, BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday in Bengaluru. Home minister Basavaraj Bommai was present during the occasion.
