Kaup: Gang fight at Palimaru - Four injured

Kaup, Jul 15: Two gangs fought it out opposite a bar at Palimaru near Padubidri on the night of Tuesday July 13. Four persons were injured in the incident. The fight reportedly happened due to a pre-existing enmity over cricket. A case stands registered in Padubidri police station in this respect.

When a group of young men was coming out of the bar, when accused, Sampath Shetty, Ranjith Shetty, Rakshit Abhijit, Dinesh, Nitesh, Keertesh, Mohit and others from Karnire attacked the group with bats, beer bottles, knives and wooden cudgels. It is said that the attacker s wanted to murder members of the other group. Sooraj and Sharath Shetty, who were injured, have been admitted into a private hospital in Udupi. When the injured were taken to a car, the glasses of the car were shattered.

Sampat Shettay and Ranjit Shetty too suffered injuries. They have been admitted into a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Regarding this incident, a complaint and counter complaint were registered. Sampath Kumar Shetty from Karnire has filed the counter complaint, saying that Jitendra Shetty, with the stated aim of murdering Sampath Kumar Shetty, had formed a gang with others and attacked them with knives and soda bottles. Sampath Kumar also stated that his brother, Ranjith Shetty, was stabbed by the accused in the abdomen region with a knife.
