Mangalore, Sep 13 (TNN): In four separate cases of burglaries/ theft reported in Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, valuables worth Rs 7.25 lakh were stolen.

In the first case at Jeppu in Mangalore South Police Station limits, burglars gained entry into the house belonging to one Vincent D'Souza (64) of Jeppu by breaking the lock on the back door and stole household items worth Rs 50,000.

Also in the limits of Barke police station, valuables worth Rs 3.75 lakh kept inside a car, which included Rs 6,500 in cash and rest in valuables, were stolen. The car bearing Kerala registration was parked in TMA Pai Hall at M G Road.

In two cases reported in Vittla police station limits, burglars stole valuables worth Rs 3 lakh. The house of Abdul Khadar (63) of Badriya Kote, was burgled by thieves who broke in through the back door. Valuables lost included cash of Rs 5,000, Rs 1 lakh worth gold ornaments and others.

In yet another case, a house belonging to Jubaidha (33) of Arimoole Padnoor village in Bantwal taluk was burgled after burglars gained entry through the front door. They decamped with Rs 25,000 and gold ornaments all worth Rs 1.5 lakh.
