Udupi, Sep 14: The District Congress Committee (DCC) staged an agitation near town bus stand on Tuesday September 14 opposing the misrule by BJP led administration.

Addressing the protestors, Udupi Block Congress Committee president Pramod Madwaraj said that the state administration led by BJP has failed in every front. "The contribution of over Rs 120 crore under Kudcemp was approved by S M Krishna led Congress administration to Udupi district in the past," he said adding that BJP led state administration will come to an end, if it cannot procure from union government.

In a veiled attack on Reddy brothers, Pramod said that the mining barons from BJP in the state legislature filed nil income tax returns during 2004, while the same people are floating steel plants both in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with an estimated cost of Rs 50,000 in 2010. It shows the extent of their ill-gotten wealth that was amassed by swindling the abundant mining deposits, he alleged.

DCC designated president Gopal Poojary, Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, former state minister Vasant V Salian, zilla panchayat vice-president Santhosh Kumar Shetty, ZP members Bhujanga Shetty and Sarasu Bangera, DCC president M A Gafoor, women’s Congress president Veronica Cornelio, Shyamala Bhandary and Sarala Kanchan among others were present.
