Mangalore, Sep 15: Almost the entire coast of Karnataka received normal to good rains on Tuesday September 14. The city received three cms of rainfall.

As the rainfall was not continuous, and most of the rains came in the evening and all through the night, normal life was not crippled. Business establishments, markets, functions like Ganeshotsava etc however, were affected due to rain. The condition of roads, particularly rural ones, has turned worse. Vehicular traffic on Halady, Hebri and Someshwar route suffered as the road suffered landslide near Kasady near Halady.

The areca and paddy farmers have become a worried lot because of the adverse affects the continued rains are likely to have on their crops.
