Bengaluru, Aug 24: Rumours were rife in state political circles that minister Anand Singh is going to resign as he is not happy with the portfolio allotted to him. However, it is said that his disappointment is over now and he has taken charge as minister for Tourism, Ecology and Environment.

Anand Singh met chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday August 24 at his home office Krishna in the city. Raju Gowda also accompanied Singh. CM Bommai was successful in convincing Singh. Bommai asked Singh to be patient and he will resolve the issue after speaking with the party high command when he goes to Delhi on Wednesday.

Singh did not give any statement to the media and went directly to Vikasa Soudha. Later speaking to the scribes he said, “I discussed the same issue with the CM. I met Nalin Kumar Kateel also. Both asked me to take charge of the given portfolio first. So I have taken the charge according to their advice. The CM is going to respond to my demand positively.”

Speaking on the occasion, minister R Ashok said, “Anand Singh does not have any disappointment. Everything is resolved now. CM, Raju Gowda and I have discussed the matter with Singh. He has agreed and taken charge of the assigned portfolio.”

Raju Gowda said that Anand Singh did not blackmail the CM. “All portfolios are important. Out of six crore people only 30 have got opportunity to become ministers,” he said.
