Mangalore: Month-long Prog in Memory of Late M S R Shetty from Oct 9

Mangalore, Oct 6:  The Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organization will hold a month- long social and cultural programme as a mark of respect to former chairman of the bank, Late Mulky Sunder Ram Shetty from Saturday October 9 to November 7.

At a press conference held here on Wednesday October 6, president of the Organization Mulky Karunakara Shetty said that the achievement made by Sunder Ram Shetty in the banking sector has created history.

World Bunts’ Association president Ajith Kumar Malady will inaugurate the programme. Various programmes like folk dance, traditional dance, skit show and so on will be presented on the occasion.

President of Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organization Mulky Karunakara Shetty, vice-president Nagesh Kumar and union secretary Shreedhar Shetty M among others were present at the press meet.

About M S R Shetty

Shetty began his career in insurance and banking by working for various companies like Tropical, Warden, Crescent, Atlas and Triton among others. He later joined Vijaya Bank in 1946 and went on to become a chairman and the Bank progressed enormously under his leadership.  He served in the post till 1979.
