Udupi: DCIB Sleuths Nab Trio Involved in Doubling Currency Notes

Udupi, Oct 7: District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) sleuths nabbed three persons, who were involved in cheating the public in the guise of doubling the high value Indian currency notes at Bungalow maidan in Kaup here on Wednesday October 6.

The arrested have been identified as 35-year-old Kiran alias Raju alias Jagannat, a resident of Honnali Road, Shimoga, 30-year-old Vasant Kumar alias Mallayya, Rangenahalli of Turuvekere, Tiptur, and 52-year-old Shivanna alias Timmayya, Bovi, Nonavinakere, Tiptur.

The sleuths seized some Indian currency notes of Rs 500 denomination, a few bunch of blank sheets of papers of the size of Rs 500 note and chemical solvents from the arrested.

DCIB sub-inspector Ganesh M Hegde led the operation under the guidance of superintendent of police Pravin Madhukar Pawar and as per the instructions of additional superintendent of police Venkateshappa, along with assistant sub-inspector Narayan, constables Damodar, Satish Ballal, Mahabala Shetty, Ratnakar, Dinesh Shetty, Uday Kunder, Vamana, Manohar Udyavar, Abdul Khader and Nagaraj.
