Mangalore: Alva's Nudisiri Cultural Extravaganza from Oct 29-31

Mangalore, Oct 9: Come October 29 and the region will once again witness the annual cultural extravaganza Alva's Nudisiri hosted by Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri.
 
The three-day event will be organised this year on the theme of 'life values and feel for Kannada,' said Foundation chairman Mohan Alva while addressing a press meet here on Friday October 8.

He also informed that renowned poet H S Venkatesh Murthy will inaugurate the event while noted writer Vaidehi will preside.

The event will comprise four sessions, all revolving around the theme. Dr Rajendra Chenny, Dr Basavaraj Kalgudi, Jyothishwara, Dr Krishnammorthy Hanoora, Dr P K Rajashekhar, Dr R Ganesh, Dr M V Vasu, Nagesh Hegde, S R Vijayshankar, Dr Basavaraj Malashetty and T N Seetharam  are expected to be the resource persons, Alva said.

Poetry sessions 'Kavi samaya-Kavi namana' and ‘Katha Samaya’ will be held on all the three days wherein poets will share their poetic experiences, thoughts on poetry and so on.

'Katha samaya' will see writers like Vivek Shanbhag, Fakir Mohammed Katpady, Dr Mogalli Ganesh and Vasumathi Udupa share their writings.

Apart from cultural programmes, there will also be tributes paid to those who passed away recently, he said.

Among those present were Prof N Damodar Shetty, Dhananjay Kumble and Harish K Adoor.
