Mangalore: Passenger Slips From Bus, Gets Crushed

Mangalore, Oct 9: A youth, who was travelling by standing by the side of a door of a bus, slipped down and fell to the road. He was crushed under the tyres of the same bus. The incident occurred near Suratkal on the evening of Friday October 8.

Sridhar (19), son of Booba from Tokur Maindaguri near Suratkal, was the victim of the incident that occurred near Suratkal railway station. Sridhar, who works as a mason, was returning home through a city bus after work, when tragedy struck.

Reportedly, the bus was twisting and turning, as the driver was attempting to avoid pot holes. As the bus heaved in one such twist, Sridhar lost his grip and fell down. He was instantly crushed under the bus tyres, and breathed his last on the spot.

Sridhar was unmarried, and is survived by an elder sister and father. A complaint has been lodged in Suratkal police station, relating to the incident.
