Mangalore, Oct 9: Franchisee of Mangalore United team, B A Moidin Bawa of Fiza Developers and Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, informed that Mangalore United team, which has emerged as champion in the second edition of Karnataka Premier League held this year, will hold its victory rally on Saturday October 9.

He said that his team has made Karnataka coast proud by bagging the championship, and gave credit for this achievement to team work. "This is a moment of happiness and celebration for the coast. We want to share our joy with the people here," he said.

Mangalore United, which had lost its first three matches even after winning these tosses, had won the next three matches, in spite of losing tosses in all of them. Coach of the team, Dodda Ganesh, and senior players of the team, had gone through the video footings of the first three matches, analyzed the weak areas and taken steps to strengthen them.

The vehicular rally, which will be flagged off from the NITK grounds in Suratkal at 2 pm today, will move through Kottara, Lady Hill, Ballalbagh, PVS, Jyoti Circle and Hampankatta, before culminating at Nehru Maidan in the city.  "The procession will be inaugurated by priests of three religions. The rally will be accompanied by various teams of artistes and cultural groups.  The players of the team will be felicitated and Mangalore United Cricket Academy will be inaugurated. At 7 pm today, a colourful programme is being organized at TMA Pai Convention Centre here in this connection," he added.
