Mangalore, Oct 16: The rains which hit several places in the coast till Friday morning, eased thereafter. Some rains were experienced in the city, a few places in Udupi district, and Subrahmanya on Friday afternoon.
On Thursday night, heavy rains had lashed several parts of the coast, and Kota in Udupi district had registered nine cms of rain. Kundapur, Dharmasthala and places in hinterlands too had got heavy rains. However, the intensity came down sharply, and only localized rains were reported since Friday morning.
The meteorological department has predicted light to normal rains in the coast and southern hinterlands. It also said that the northern hinterlands are expected to get well spread out rains during the period till Sunday morning.
