Mangalore, Oct 16: The policemen here have decided to hand over the case relating to the threatening call received by Nanavati, legal advisor of Mulla and Mulla Company, which was entrusted with the task of settling claims relating to air crash at the local airport on May 22 this year, to Cyber Crime Cell. Reportedly, Kapil Aseri, finance head of Air India too had received similar threat call.

The policemen said that a specialized branch will have to investigate this case, as the threat call was made by using internet.

“The threat call had been received when Kapil Aseri and Nanavati were put up at Hotel Gateway in Mumbai on October 11. The anonymous caller threatened the two of eliminating them, holding them responsible for the disparity in settling claims of families of the above air crash victims,” said Air India’s local manager, Chellam Prasad, in a complaint filed in Urwa police station. The call was reportedly received from the number, +37962698.

It may recalled that in a recent protest held by the families of air crash victims under the leadership of Democratic Youth Federation of India, the above two had been blamed for the lower compensation offered to families of the victims from middle income group.
