Karkala: Policemen Arrest Conductor Allegedly Involved with Thefts, Kidnap

Karkala, Oct 16: The personnel of the town police station here have arrested a person, who works as bus conductor during the day. They have alleged that at night, he often turned into a thief, and steals various items. The arrested man has been identified as Navin Kumar (27), a resident of Valpady Moodlalbettu in Moodbidri.

He was arrested from near the town bus stand. He has been accused of entering Balaji Tours and Courier Centre here a few days ago, and taking away three mobile phones. The policemen led by town crime inspector, Ravi, in an operation backed by reliable information, nabbed the accused and recovered the three mobile sets e had stolen.

The policemen, during further interrogation, found that he was involved with some other cases of robbery, theft and kidnap. Navin reportedly confessed to have stolen mobile phones from a cyber shop in the town, a mobile phone shop in Moodbidri, and having kidnapped the sister of his wife, about which, a case stands registered in Balehonnur police station.
