Mangalore: Additional Police Security for Dasara, Traffic Diverted

Sources from the police control room said that the police department will provide additional security and will be extra vigilant during Mangalore Dasara to maintain peace and order in the district.

So far six KSRP and two DAR platoons have been deployed adding to the present number of police personnel in the limits of Mangalore police commisionerate. Two KSRP and one DAR platoons have been deployed in rural areas of the district.

Moreover, traffic will be diverted after 4 pm on Sunday October 17, once the procession starts. Vehicles will be restricted from moving towards Mangaladevi temple, as also those moving towards Kudroli via Alake junction and New Chitra. Heavy vehicles, including buses entering in the city will do so through Kuntikana and Nantur while those leaving the city will be diverted at Bunts Hostel and move towards Nantur.
