Kundapur: Palm Oil Tanker Rolls Down, Driver Killed

Kundapur, Oct 18: After a tanker carrying palm oil rolled into a roadside ditch near Pravasi Hotel at Tallur on the outskirts of the town on the night of Saturday October 16, the driver of the vehicle was killed.

The vehicle was carrying palm oil from Mangalore to Dharwad, when the driver lost control over it. The vehicle rolled down the roadside ditch. While its driver, Chidanand Reddy (54), was killed on the spot, its cleaner suffered minor injuries.

Steps were later taken to transfer the contents of the tanker to another tanker. A case has been registered in the local police station.
