Mangaluru, Oct 24: Acting on the complaint from public, the city crime brance (CCB) police on the night of Saturday October 23 raided a pub located on MG Road here.
It is alleged that the pub was kept open beyond the stipulated hours. High decibel sound system was used for playing music which was creating nuisance to residents living nearby.
Public complained that the customers of the pub, in a drunken stupor, were behaving in an "indecent" manner with the students walking on streets and devotees of a temple that is situated very close to the pub.
Sound system and public address system used in the pub were confiscated by the police and further investigation is on.
The raid was conducted by a team led by CCB inspector Mahesh Prasad and Barke police station inspector Jyotirlinga. A case under Excise Act, Karnataka Police Act and Epidemic Act has been registered against the Pub management.
