Udupi, Nov 3: The second day of State level Sahakari Saptaha - 2021 (Cooperative week) will be held at Smt Ammanni Ramanna Shetty memorial auditorium on Monday, November 15 said South Canara DCC chairman M N Rajendra Kumar, at the press meet.
He was addressing the media soon after the preparatory meeting ahead of 68th All Indian Cooperative week 2021 celebration, held on Tuesday, November 2 at Diana hotel Udupi here.
The state level Sahakari Saptaha is being jointly organized by Karnataka State Cooperative federation, Bengaluru, Dakshina Kannada district Central Cooperative Bank, Mangaluru and Udupi district Cooperative Union.
Kumar said, "A grand procession will be held as part of the Sahakari Saptaha. The procession will commence from Board High school Udupi at 8.30 am and will end up in the venue. A bike rally will be held by holding cooperative flags, at around 500 people will take part in the rally. There will also have tableaus of different cooperative societies and women will participate in the procession with holding Kalasha.
"A sahakari chariot will be taken around in the district a day before the programme in order to promote the event. There are 40,000 groups will come under the Cooperative federation. We aim at making Udupi proud through this programme. We also want to involve women at large number. We are expecting more than 10,000 crowd gathering.
Karnataka Milk Federation and Fishermen federation will also join hands with this programme.
S T Somashekhar, state Cooperation minister, Shobha Karandlaje, Union minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Social Welfare and Backward Classes , S Angara, fisheries minister, Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP state president, MLAs of two districts, will be present over the programme, said SCDCC chairman.
