Mangalore: Matsyagandha Express Accident – Trains Resume Operations

Mangalore, Nov 10: Normalcy was restored in the train services on Konkan Railway route, which were disrupted after Mumbai-bound Matsyagandha Express train was hit by a boulder on Monday evening. All the trains moved about on the route without any hitches on Tuesday November 9.

Doctors at INS Patanjali Hospital in Karwar said that the condition of one of the injured passengers out of the nine admitted, is serious, while all others are out of danger. It is learnt that all the 13 injured persons admitted into the district government hospital in Karwar are also out of danger. The policemen said that out of the 23 injured train passengers, one person could not be traced. They feel that he possibly went home without getting admitted into the hospital, as the extent of his injury was negligible.

Gregory Marcel Sequeira (56) from Kinnigoly, Tejas Ravi Bhat (15), Adarsh Ravi Bhat (10), and Ravi Govind Bhat from Sullia, Sudarshan Vittal Shetty (35) and Vijita Sudarshan Shetty (28) from Ambalpady Udupi, Arya Prashant Kotian (3) from Udupi, Anusha Shetty (22) from Mangalore, Swarna Bhat from Bellare, and Philistine Noronha (78) from Udupi are being treated at the district hospital. Dinesh Raju Poojary (36) from Mumbai, Gracy Arthur Veigas (47) and Anita Francis Gomes (36) from Suratkal, Prema Narayan Kotian (60) and Navin Kumar M from Udupi, Devin Francis Gomes (8) from Suratkal, are undergoing treatment at INS Patanjali Hospital. All the other injured passengers are from Kerala, it is gathered.

On Tuesday, Uttara Kannada deputy commissioner, Krishnaiah, superintendent of police, Raman Gupta and additional DC, Dr K H Narasimhamurty visited the hospitals and met the injured passengers.

    i vijay i stay four years in goa,ponda i know the situation of railway in goa rainy they are not folowing the rules timing difference actually before it reach 6.00pm on goa rainy time konkan railway not having enough trainbut they are making arrangements as over smart & no saftey in railwaythis is rainy season it is the special train for konkanrailway why like this first aid not there there is no proper communication also between the railway stations one time verna mangalore was coming too late cvoming ther is no mechnaic for engine repair they are like poor government
