Udupi, Nov 10: Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, will be distributing saris and bonds under ‘Bhagyalaxmi’ scheme of the state government to the beneficiaries at a programme scheduled to be held at the Rajangan of Srikrishna Mutt here on Wednesday November 17.

This information was given by the district deputy commissioner (DC), P Hemalata, while presiding over the preliminary meeting relating to sari distribution and health check up programmes under the scheme. The meeting was held in the auditorium of the DC’s office on Tuesday November 9.

Saris and bonds under the said scheme will be distributed to 12,998 women and children, who are set to come to the town to receive them on the said date. The DC said that 100 KSRTC and private buses have been hired for plying the beneficiaries under the scheme to the district headquarters for the said programme. She added that the children will be provided with milk and snacks, while their mothers would be provided with light breakfast on arrival.

MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary, zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Rajshekhar, additional deputy commissioner, Prabhakar, assistant superintendent of police, Venkateshappa, district women and child welfare officer, Sumana, district health officer, Dr Ramachandra Bairy, municipal commissioner, Gokuldas Naik and several other officials were present.
