M'lore: Kailkere Mohandas Bhandary Elected to Working Committee of Indian IMA

Mangalore, Nov 15: Dr Kailkere Mohandas Bhandary, president of IMA Mangalore Branch has been unanimously elected to the 6-member Working Committee of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Karnataka State Branch.

Dr Bhandary’s nomination to this prestigious body follows his success in organizing IMA Medicon 2010, 76th Annual State Conference of IMA Karnataka State Branch in Mangalore on 30th and 31st of last month.

Dr Kailkere Mohandas Bhandary has served as a trusted family doctor for over 35 years. He is the founder of Bhandary Education Trust (R) and Family Doctor’s Association, Mangalore.

During his career, he has organized free medical camps which have benefited more than 50,000 poor patients. He is the chairman of Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Programme of Rotary International District 3180 covering 8 Revenue Districts (Chamarajnagar, Mysore, Coorg, Hassan, Chikamagalur, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada & Udupi). At present he is spearheading a project to make Mangalore a ‘Beggar Free Community’ by establishing rehabilitation facilities for beggars.

He is very active in social, religious, cultural, literary, sports and political fields. He has been an executive committee member of Dakshina Kannada Cricket Association and Bunts Alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha, Mangalore and as president of Canara Club, Rotary Club Mangalore Central and Tulu Aisiri (R), Mangalore.
