Kasargod: Normalcy Restored, Prohibitory Orders Extended

Kasargod, Jan 12: The atmosphere in the town, which was vitiated after Rishad (24), son of Menhmood from Battambare was murdered on the night of December 9, has returned to normalcy. In the meanwhile, prohibitory orders imposed within the jurisdiction of Kasargod, Vidyanagar, and Bekal police stations, have been extended by the district collector till Thursday January 13.

Additional police forces have been patrolling different areas of the town, and high level police officers from other districts have been deployed for managing the situation. In a peace meet held under the presidentship of district collector, Anand Singh, on Tuesday January 11, the people have been requested not to give credence to false rumours that are being spread about the sparking of frictions in different places.

MLAs, C T Ahmedali and C H Kunhambu, additional district magistrate, C Vasudeva, former minister, Cherkalam Abdulla, superintendent of police, P Prakash, and leaders of different political parties were present at the meeting.
