Udupi, Jan 13: Bhavya (19), a college student residing in Padoor village near Majoor, Kaup, hanged herself on Tuesday January 11 late evening. It is learnt that she was very much disturbed at the skin disease, leukoderma, from which she was suffering since the last several years.

She was a final year degree student at Mulky Sundar Rama Shetty College in Shirva. In a complaint filed with the policemen, aunt of the girl, Sujata, said that Bhavya was feeling consternated over the fact that leukoderma, from which she had been suffering since the last seven years, had not showed any signs of healing, in spite of different treatments. Her family had recently been seeking alliance for her, and the girl perhaps, was not inclined to marry at a time when her skin disease was not showing any signs of waning, and as it had the potential to affect her future, she said.
