Kasargod: Anti Sand Trade Initiatives - DYFI Activist Stabbed

Kasargod,  Jan 13: An activist of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) named Siddque suffered critical injury, after a gang stabbed him with a knife on Wednesday January 12. Siddique, a resident of Bandyodu in the district, is being treated in a private hospital in Mangalore.

A gang, which came to Bandyodu in car, fled after stabbing Siddique.

Siddique has been in the forefront of a tirade against illegal sand business, which is flourishing in various places within Mangalpady panchayat limits. A team of DYFI activists led by him had passed on information to the police about seven trucks, which were unauthorizedly transporting sand, prompting the policemen to take action

The policemen suspect that the persons affected by the above police action, who were grousing enmity against Siddque, have tried to avenge their loss through this action.
