Mangalore, Jan 14: The press release issued by Mangalore SEZ Ltd, here on Friday, January 14 states that the four acre land in question in Kudubi Padavu has been acquired for road connectivity to R&R Colony and is not for MSEZ Industrial purpose. 

The said land was notified in May 2007 and acquired in March 2008 by KIADB at the time of Ph-I land acquisition, possession for which was handed over in January 2010. Seventy Kudubi families out of seventy -eight have already taken compensation for the same. Giriya Gowda and others had approached the Court regarding this and the High Court had dismissed the writ in September 2010, the release stated further.

It also added that due to heavy rains they could not carry road construction works thereafter, and now to facilitate the 'Bhandara Movement' of the 900 year old deity Kodamanithaya Temple Permude, works are going on. The road construction is a basic necessity for connectivity which must be provided and is in no way connected with MSEZ industrial land.
