Mangalore: Poor Academic Performance of Son – Mother Commits Suicide

Mangalore, Jan 15: Sujata (38), resident of Prakash nagar in Someshwar Pilar near here, committed suicide by hanging herself on Thursday January 13 evening at her residence. Reportedly, she was frustrated at the fact that her son was not good at studies, and that he used to fail in the examinations repeatedly.

It is learnt that Sujata’s son, Prakash, had failed twice consecutively, in diploma examinations. This, and the fact her son did not heed to her pleas to study hard, had created tension in Sujata. On Thursday, the children, who came home from school in the evening, found their mother hanging from a rope.

A case in this connection was registered in Ullal police station.

    This extreme type of selfish and ego which ended in suicide which is unfortunate.

    Now a days parrents are more serious than students of their education and future!Forcing some body which is not his cup of tea is useless and ending with logic like this one.

    I really pity her children. Why in our society this family has lost hopes. Is academic marks are everything. In fact it is just one of the tools to get openings. Many students those who have failed in academic have been successful in their career.
    In fact to a certain extent we have to blame our ourselves,, society, the neighbours who have discouraged this family and also the community. If there would have been a counseling centre, she would have gone and approached them for guidance. This is what is bound to happen when few leaders for their selfishness put barriers to meet, interact communities except on the basis of religion. Some institutions are well equipped to deal with psychological problems with trained counselors
    Our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved members of the family. May her soul rest in peace.
