Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jan 15: The state legislative council will choose its deputy chairperson in place of Puttanna, who was removed from the post. The election will be held on Monday January 14.

Nominations for the election can be filed till 12 noon on Sunday January 16. The proceedings of the legislative council will begin at 12.15 pm on Monday, and the deputy chairperson will be elected thereafter.

It is almost certain, that Vimala Gowda of the BJP will get elected as the deputy chairperson of the council, as the BJP has enough membership to get her elected. As the entire opposition has decided to boycott the session, the likelihood of her being elected unanimously is bright.
