Udupi, Jan 16: A felicitation programme was organized by Udupi district BJP committee for the elected BJP candidates of recent ZP and TP election.
The programme was organized at Sheshashayana Hall of Kidiyoor Hotel here on Saturday January 15.
District in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya after inaugurating the programme said that the elected candidates have won the trust of voters, so they have responsibility to fulfill the needs of common people. As per the recommendation by A G Kodgi R 1,000 crores will be allocated for the development of rural areas, he stated.
Arrogant behavior of the people representatives will not be tolerated by the people. The elected representatives must sustain humbleness, he stressed.
MP Sadananda Gowda distributed the certificates to the elected ZP candidates. MLA Raghupathy Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, K Laxmirayana, MLC Kota Shreenivas Poojary, Captain Ganesh Karnik distributed the certificates to the winners of TP election.
Chairman of the Task Force for Implementation of Third Finance Commission Report A G Kodgi, former MLA V Sunil Kumar, Sulochana Bhat, city municipality president Kiran Kumar, city developmental corporation president Sudhakar Shetty, Maani Gopal, state minority commission president Abubakar and Thingale Vikramarjun Hegde among others were present.
BJP district committee president Udaykumar Shetty presided over the programme and delivered the key note address. Katpady Shankar Poojary welcomed the gathering. Shamala Kunder compered the programme. Jerald Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks.
