Mangalore: None from Twin-districts Among Victims of Sabarimala Tragedy

Mangalore, Jan 17: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, said that none of the victims who lost their lives in the Sabarimala tragedy were from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. He gave this information, on the basis of the report of a police team from the district that was deputed to collect facts.

A team of seven policemen in two vehicles, headed by district crime records bureau’s deputy superintendent of police, B J Bhandary, had left the city for Sabarimala on Saturday. The team reached Sabarimala at around 4.30 am on Sunday. As on Sunday, out of 6 unidentified bodies, two were identified, and four others remain to be identified, it is gathered.

The team is now checking the identities of the injured persons to confirm whether any of the injured hail from Karnataka coast.
