Mangalore: Preetam Kumar Elected President of All College Students Union

Mangalore, Jan 18: Preetam Kumar, a student of the city-based Gokarnanatheshwara College, has been elected as the president of Mangalore University All College Students Union for the year 2010-11.

Abdul Naufal of Badriya College, Hemant of Karkala Bhuvanendra College, and Manjunath, a student of Dhavala College, Moodbidri, were elected as vice presidents of the union.

Sharif Araf of Puttur St Philomena College, and Mohammed Shaffi of Narayanaguru College Kudroli, got elected as general secretaries. Sahaj Rai of Puttur Vivekananda College has been chosen as the treasurer of the union.

Ivan D’Souza, advocate, had functioned as the returning officer for the election. Former office bearers of the union, Mithun Rai, Sumit Melroy, Dilraj Alva, Mahesh Kumar etc, were present. A release said that the inaugural of the union and the installation ceremony of the newly elected office bearers will be held on January 22.
