Moodbidri, Jan 19: In a heart-rending incident that occurred at Hosangady near here on Tuesday January 18, an 18-month-old child was crushed under the wheels of a tipper that was moving backwards.
Razack, son of Rehman, an entrepreneur based in Hosangady Maroor, was moving his tipper on reverse gear, when tragedy occurred. The child in question, named Sahaz Ahmed, which was the only child of Razack’s sister, Qamarunnisa, approached the tipper from behind, unnoticed by Razack, as a result of which, the child got crushed.
Reportedly, Razack had carried the child inside the house twice or thrice earlier, as it was creating problems for moving the tipper. Qamarunnisa, who had married Siddique from Beltangady about three years back, had come to her parental home a few days back.
A case has been registered in the local police station in this connection.
