Mangalore, Jan 20: Round Table India (RTI), a non-political and non-sectarian organization of young men who strive to promote service through fellowship distributed 125 new uniforms to the students of St Joseph Higher Primary School, Padavu Calvary Nantoor on Wednesday January 19.

Through fellowship, endearing young men of the organization have been serving the community for over 50 years.
 
With membership strength of 2,500 like-minded professionals spread across a network of 75 cities and towns in India, Round Table India is part of Round Table, a global organization existing in 54 countries around the world with a strong network of 36,000 members.

It aims at serving the larger need of the community and each Tabler contributes Rs 50,000.00 per annum, the highest per capita contributor towards projects, possibly the highest amongst all service organizations.
 
Round Table India has since built 3,700 class rooms in 1200 schools in Rural/ Semi Rural/ Slums in urban areas at a layout of approximately 85 crores directly benefiting over 750,000 underprivileged children & is expected to benefit 2.4 million children in a 25 year cycle (1996-2021).
 
Besides providing infrastructure for education, RTI has contributed immensely in other community service activities for eg, special initiatives for the visually and hearing impaired and resource mobilization.

Round Table India has also significantly contributed in terms of cash and kind to the Kargil Fund, 1993 Latur Earthquake, 1999-2000 Orissa Cyclone Relief, Gujarat Earthquake, Tsunami Rehabilitation, Surat Floods in 2006 and more recently the floods at Bihar and Orissa in 2008.
