Kasargod: Property Dispute – Man Hacked to Death

Kasargod, Jan 22: Chandrahas Poojary (42), son of Arasa Poojary from Balakkala in Perla Kannur Kamanabayalu near Kumble here, was hacked to death on the evening of Friday January 21 by a gang armed with lethal weapons.

Poojary was proceeding in his jeep to Kumble, when he was intercepted by the gang in question. After dragging him out, the gang members hit him indiscriminately with sharp weapons. Poojary lost his life because of the deep gash he suffered to his neck. It is suspected that property dispute was the reason for this murder.

Chandrahas Poojary is survived by wife, two daughters, and a son. The body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary of the general hospital here.

Immediately after the incident came to light, deputy superintendent of police, Vikram, Kumble circle inspector of police, K Damodaran, and sub-inspector, Rajeevan, rushed to the spot for investigation.
