Karkala: 31st State-level Krushi Mela from Feb 4 to 6

 Karkala, Jan 23: The state higher education minister Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the meeting of various department officers and media centers on Sunday January 23.

He released the invitation cards of thirty-first Krushi Mela that will be held under the aegis of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) at Bajegoli Pre-University College, here from Friday February 4 to Sunday February 6. 
 
Three-hundred stalls of various departments, many seminars including display of cattle stock will be held at the Krushi Mela.  Around3.5 lac people are expected to attend three-day Krushi Mela.

Rupees thirty lac were released to the district administration, in order to improve the infrastructural facilities at the venue and access roads under both minister Dr V S Acharya’s and local MLA Gopal Bhandary’s funds.  The works will begin from Monday January 24. 
 
The state-run KSRTC buses will be pressed into service to bring the people from the neighbouring villages in three-day Krushi Mela that will be inaugurated by union law minister M Veerappa Moily on Friday February 4.
 
The state agriculture minister Umesh Katti will inaugurate the seminars.  The inter-active sessions with the department officers will be held at the occasion. Various cultural programmes will be held in all days of Mela.
 
MLC Captain Ganesh Karnic, MLA Gopal Bhandary, SKDRDP chief executive officer Dr L H Manjunath, Mahaveer Jain, district headquarter assistant Prabhakar, Kundapura divisional officer Sadashiv Prabhu, ZP deputy secretary Pranesh Rao and ZP chief project officer Vijay Kumar Shetty were present.
