Kundapur: Reservation Norms Rob BJP of TP Vice-president Post

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Jan 27: The changed reservation criteria has proved to be a bane for the BJP, which, for the first time in the history of this taluk panchayat (TP), has risen to power by bagging 22 out of 35 seats.

In spite of this splendid performance, the party is all set to lose the post of the TP vice-president to the Congress, as it does not have a candidate, who conforms to the reservation norms.

The post of the president of this TP has been earmarked for general category, while the post of the vice-president goes to a woman candidate from scheduled tribes. As the BJP does not have a woman taluk panchayat member from scheduled tribes, this post will go to the main opposition, Congress. It is almost certain that Jyoti from Congress will bag this post.

Because of this loss, there will be multiple aspirants within the BJP for the presidential post. There are about ten aspirants for the post of the president now, and the BJP leadership will find it tough to find a consensus candidate, it is gathered.

Whosoever it may go this reserved post, they should honestly execute their job and responsibilities. They should justify their post. Best of Luck
