Mangalore: Newly-shifted Kulshekar Branch of MCC Bank Inaugurated

Mangalore, Jan 31: The newly-shifted branch of Mangalore Catholic Co-operative (MCC) Bank, located at Emerald Galaxy building, Kalpane, was inaugurated at Kulshekar, here on Monday January 31.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

Carmelite priest Fr Nelson Pinto of Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakattee inaugurated the shifted branch of MCC Bank. Fr Valerian Pinto, parish priest of Holy Cross parish, Kulshekar blessed the new premises. MCC Bank chairman Melvyn D’Cunha presided over the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Melvyn D’Cunha said that the branch has been shifted to new premises for the convenience of customers, as other branches in Morgansgate, B C Road, Shirva and Suratkal are modernized including the head office at St Aloysius College Road in the city. The Kulshekar branch was set up on November 27, 1994 when Philomena D’Souza was the branch manager.  The branch recorded deposits to the tune of Rs 180 lac within 4 months of beginning its operation and advanced loans to the tune of Rs 85 lac, said Melvyn D’Cunha.

He further said that the bank is geared up for improving the customer services in all its branches.  The bank has witnessed steady growth in deposits from Rs 93 crore to Rs 160 crore with the new board taking over the reign few years ago.  The loans and advances have reached to Rs 100 crore from Rs 42 crore. The bank has paid dividend of eight percent to its shareholders in the last accounting year.  The salaries of staff have been hiked and the plans are underway on their promotions, added Melvyn D’Cunha.

George Pinto, excise superintendent inaugurated the strong room at the newly set up branch. Praveen Patrao, vice-president of Kushekar parish council inaugurated www.mccbank.co.in. The retired sub-inspector V J Cutinho, corporators Mariamma Thomas and K Bhaskar were the chief guests on the occasion.

MCC Bank general manager Joseph Quadros, Kulshekar branch manager Ivy Monteiro, directors Antony Cutinho, Dr Edward Nazareth and Raymond D’Cunha Taccode were present on the dais. Raymond D’Cunha Taccode compered the programme.

    How come all the directors are not present... it would always good if all the 12 directors are present and can give us atleast quarterly s.
