Bantwal: B V Karant Natakotsav Promises Delightful Experience for Drama Buffs

Bantwal, Feb 2: B V Karant Natakotsav will be held at Manchi – Kukkaje Government Composite High School, near here, from Friday February 4 to Sunday February 6 under the aegis of B V Karant Ranga Bhoomika Trust, Manchi – Kukkaje, and Babu Kodi Ranga Pratistan, Bangalore. Five dramas will be staged during the three-day event.

K M Nataraj, additional advocate general of Karnataka High Court, will inaugurate the event here on Friday evening.

Veteran litterateur Yerya Laxminarayan Alva will preside over the programme.

State Bar Council member T Narayan Poojary will be the chief guest on the occasion.

‘Kuni Kuni Navile’, Kannada play directed by Mounesh Vishwakarma, will be staged by drama club of S V S College, and ‘Sadako Savira Kokkugalu’, a play directed by B R Venkataramana Aithal will be staged by the artistes of Kinnara Mela, Tumari – Sagar on Friday evening.

‘Kaleda Kolalu’, Kannada play directed by Balakrishna Shetty, will be staged by the students of Sajipamuda Government High School, and ‘Vigada Vikramaraya’, Kannada play directed by K G Krishnamurti will be staged by the artistes of Kinnara Mela, Tumari – Sagar on Saturday February 5.

The valedictory function will be presided over by Karnataka Natak Academy member Dr H S Kumaraswamy on Sunday February 6.

National Drama Institute Bangalore regional HRD centre director Suresh Anagalli, Babukodi Ranga Pratistan managing trustee Jayaram Patil, and stage director Murti Deraje will be the chief guests on the occasion.

‘Mastakabhisheka Rehearsal’, Kannada play directed by Suresh Anagalli will be staged
by Aneka troupe of Bangalore.
