Dr Fr Alwyn Dias re-elected Provincial Minister of Karnataka Capuchin Province

Bengaluru, Apr 27: Fr Alwyn Dias, OFM, Cap, was on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, re-elected by the IX Ordinary Provincial Chapter, at Shanti Sadhana, FISI, Bengaluru.


He will continue to animate the Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka for another term of three years. Fr Alwyn Dias, hails from St Ignatius Loyola Church, Paladka Parish, Mangalore Diocese.


Fr Paul Melwyn Dsouza (re-elected as Vicar Provincial and first Councillor); Fr Robin Victor Dsouza, the second councillor; Fr Denis Veigas, the third councillor and Fr Vijay Kumar, the fourth councillor, have been elected as Provincial Councillors to accompany the Provincial Minister.


The Holy Trinity Province of Karnataka has a membership of 251 perpetually professed Capuchin priests and brothers, working in Karnataka, Bhopal, Nagaland-Manipur, Mizoram-Tripura, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Japan, Arabia, Italy, Turkey, New York, Guam, Canada, Milan, Belgium, Germany and Israel.

Franciscan Capuchins who follow and imitate the spirit of St Francis of Assisi are known for their missionary zeal, confession ministry, preaching, apostolate of education and social work.
