Beltangady, Jun 6: Students of a private college were quarreling with each other at Ujire over some issue while playing the game. Two auto-rickshaw drivers who saw the clash interfered and started assaulting students, who in turn picked up a fight with them. Case in this connection is filed in Beltangady police station by both sides.

Prajwal K V (28), Madimalakatte resident of Kalmanja village is injured in the clash. According to the complaint filed by Prajwal, near Ajit Nagar a gang was assaulting rickshaw driver Jagadish and student Shanthaiah. Prajwal went to enquire about the matter and he was assaulted and threatened with life by students Shashanka, Sujan, Chandan, Prajwal and four others.

A counter-complaint is filed by Shashanka B Shetty (21), student and resident of Banasavadi, Bengaluru. In his complaint, Shashank said that he was returning after playing games with his friends Chandan, Sujan and Prajwal while he was attacked by seven to eight people including auto-rickshaw driver Prajwal with a wicket and other lethal weapons and threatened with life.

Those who are injured in the assault are getting treated at the private hospital of Ujire. Beltangady police are investigating further.
