Mangaluru: World Environment Day celebrated at Srinivas Hospital

Mukka, Jun 6: On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, Srinivas Hospital Mukka, took up the initiative to plant 250 fruit-bearing plants across the campus at Mukka.

The main aim of the celebration was to preserve the environment and conserve forests.

The chief guest of the function Dr A Srinivas Rao, vice president of A Shama Rao foundation and pro-chancellor of Srinivas university informed the gathering on preserving the plants for future generations.

Guest of honour Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, president of A Shama Rao foundation and chancellor Srinivas university informed the gathering on the importance of fruit-bearing plants. He also informed that in future the fruits that are excess grown in the campus will be sold and the money generated (revenue) shall be used to treat patients free in the hospital.

Srinivas University faculty members, college and hoapital faculty members and students were present.

Dean Dr Uday Kumar welcomed the guest, and the vote of thanks was offered by medical Superintendent Dr David Rosario.
