Udupi: Dist Cong leaders condemn miscreants act of naming road after Godse, demand strict action

Udupi, Jun 7: The controversy related to naming of a road after Nathuram Godse has now been under legal scanner. Bola Gram Panchayat PDO Rajendra has filed a police complaint against unidentified miscreants in Karkala Rural police station.

As per the complaint filed by Bola Gram Panchayat PDO few unidentified miscreants have put up a board without the permission of grampanchayat and named the road as 'Padugiri Nathuram Godse road'. Santhosh Devadiga a localite has raised the objection and had filed a complaint, it is said that the complainant had visited the spot and removed the board, the complaint stated.

Meanwhile Udupi district Congress led by president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor and other office bearers also demanded to arrest the miscreants and take necessary action. District Congress submitted the memorundum to the Udupi police superintendent.

Karkala Block Congress also submitted its memorundum to Karkala deputy superintendent of police and demanded to arrest the miscreants at the earliest. "It is disrespect to the Father of the nation - Mahatma Gandhi. It is equivalent to treason," Karkala Congress stated.

Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, president Udupi district Congress Manjunath Bhandary, president Hebri Block Congress K Sadashiva Devadiga, president Karkala Block Congress Mamatha Gatti, chief secretary KPCC Yogish Acharya Inna, president Karkala block Youth Congress Shubhada Rao, Member Karkala town municipality Dinesh Puthran, B Kushal Shetty, Prakhyath Shetty, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Nagesh Kumar Udyavar, Ramesh Kanchan, Annayya Sherigar, Alevoor Harish Kini, Keerthi Shetty, Ismail Athradi, Louis Lobo, Upendra Mendon, Sairaj, Ahmed were present.
