He conducted an inspection of the hospital against an order issued by the chairman of the State Legal Service Authority. Sharmila S, a senior sessions court judge of Udupi was also present.

After the visit, Shanthaveera Shivappa said that, "I made a surprise visit here on the direction of the State Legal service authority to check the facilities provided in the hospital such as sanitation and the service. The hospital has maintained cleanliness in each and every ward and service provided at the centre is quite good. Though there is a shortage of staff, the management is providing the best service. There is a lack of space in the hospital. Apart from this, there are no other problems. We are going to report about these issues to our higher authority which will in turn be submitted to the government.”
