Mangaluru: Lucknow Super Giants team doctor Nelson Pinto recalls Aloysian days

Mangaluru Jun 10: The Forum, The Speakers' Club and the department of physical education, St Aloysius College had organised "Sports Chat", an interactive session with Dr Nelson Pinto, team doctor of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants here on the college campus on Friday June 10.

The Lucknow Super Giants made their IPL debut in 2022 where they managed to reach eliminator round led by K L Rahul before being knocked out by RCB.

Dr Nelson Pinto is a proud alumnus of St Aloysius College who shared the dressing room in Lucknow team with captain K L Rahul who is also an alumnus of St Aloysius.

Manoj Fernandes moderated the interactive session with Dr Nelson Pinto.

Dr Nelson Pinto recalled his days at St Aloysius when he was a student.

He also said, "You need to be patient enough to reach your goal. Once you reach your goal no one will ask you about your rank, how much time did you take to reach your goal and so on. Medical team ensures that the conditioning of players been done well, wherein they can sustain energy for five days in test cricket. Even we have to look into the nutrition of the players like what to consume or avoid. As a doctor we should never compromise on athlete's health."

Speaking about K L Rahul, Dr Nelson Pinto said, "We converse in Tulu sometimes. He is a reserved guy, always focused and sharp. He knows what he wants to do."
