Bangalore: Government to Replace Pump Sets in Coastal Districts

Bangalore, Mar 10: State Chief Minister, B S Yedduurappa, said that on an experimental basis, the scheme of replacing agricultural pump sets will be undertaken in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts at first. The replacements are planned to bring down power consumption.

Replying to discussions on budget, he noted that a large number of pump sets in the state have become old and dilapidated, as a result of which, power gets wasted in running them. The government plans to save energy by replacing them, he revealed. He also said that depending upon the success of the scheme in the twin-districts as above, it will be extended to other districts.

The Chief Minister also revealed that the government will take steps to regularize about a lac illegal pump sets in the state. He also said that the state contemplates to own a coal mine to streamline coal supply to thermal power plants in the state.

    We can see here real concern for power by CM and his preparedness to manage much better way even if it costs some crores to the exchequer, who did it in the past. All CM's in the past seems busy in
    Swiss depositing for generations.
